The founder of PSA Consulting is Dr Philip Selby. He has provided training in public speaking since 1997.

Dr Selby qualified in medicine from Cambridge University, England. He developed a special interest in communication while working as a writer and editor for the World Health Organization, doing research at the Geneva University Medical School, working in external relations with Sandoz (now Novartis), and as Executive Director of the International Union Against Cancer. He is the author/editor of six books in health-related areas.

He has taught communication skills to students at Geneva University, the International University in Geneva, and the Graduate Institute of International Studies; to diplomats; and to people working in international organizations and private companies.

Dr Selby is a founder and former President of the Geneva Toastmasters Club and a former Assistant Area Governor (education and training) of Toastmasters for Switzerland. In 2003 he won four awards in Toastmasters national and international speech contests. He was appointed Area Governor in 2007 and received an award for leadership excellence in 2008. In 2009 he received the Distinguished Toastmaster award, the highest award given by Toastmasters International.
